QFD - What we stand for and what we do:
TRAINING, SERVICE,
HISTORY, COMMUNITY,
.... and FIRE SAFETY EDUCATION.
Mission Statement To provide protection of life and property in the Quogue Fire District and through mutual aid to other fire districts when requested by responding to reports of fire or rescue requests involving structures, motor vehicles, boats, aircraft, woodland or natural disasters through maintaining the appropriate level of preparedness and readiness for emergencies. To provide fire prevention, fire inspection, and fire safety education services to the community (See 'Fire Safety Education' page) and foster an interest in all matters pertaining to the volunteer fire service, the welfare of members and all volunteer firefighters. To inspire love of country, good citizenship, civic virtue and self-sacrifice, and to perpetuate the spirit which from the earliest days has stimulated volunteer firefighters in the rendering of service of the highest type in the protection of life and property from fire or other life threatening emergency, without the motivation of fee or reward. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Unlike many communities across the country, Quogue is special to have a satisfactory roster of active volunteers, as well as the financial support of our Village. Thank you to our volunteers and residents. But, what if nobody volunteered?? Consider joining. >Learn More Here*. >IS THERE A FIRE IN YOU?* >CONTACT US HERE*, or Call (631) 653-4620 Dear Friends and Neighbors: The QFD members are your neighbors volunteering to be on the front line responding to an increase in various hazards 24 hours a day 7 days per week each year. Additionally, all members are required to train over 100 hours annually. Our 2023 Fund Drive is currently in progress, and we are asking for your support. The members of QFD would like to thank those of you who have generously contributed to our 2022 fund drive. Your donations are greatly appreciated, and we hope you are in a position to do so again this year. The monies raised enables the Fraternal Association to underwrite numerous community activities such as our QFD Open House, Halloween Ghost Parade, Easter Egg Hunt and others. Our department also has an active Explorer program for community teenagers at 15 years of age, to prepare the next generation of firefighter to help protect our community. While our firefighting expenses such as new tools, gear (PPE) and apparatus maintenance are covered by your Village taxes, your contributions support the aforementioned community events as well as a modest life insurance policy and family scholarships for QFD Volunteers. All of our lives are increasingly busy, the ability to underwrite these things is important in member recruitment and retention. As always, we are deeply grateful for your generosity and continued support. Please do everything possible to keep yourselves and your families safe and healthy.
